Basic Eligibility Criteria
  • Minimum Age: 17 years

  • Educational Qualification: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics
    (Commerce students can also apply. Candidates who have not studied Physics and Mathematics may complete these subjects through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).)

  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

Medical Requirements (DGCA Approved)
  • Class 2 Medical Examination – Initial

  • Class 1 Medical Examination –Initial, Renewal, Re - Initial

Pass DGCA Written Examinations
  • Apply for DGCA Computer

Number Register with DGCA to obtain your unique computer number, mandatory for appearing in pilot theory examinations.

  • Appear for DGCA Written Examinations

Clear DGCA theory papers such as Air Navigation, Meteorology and Regulations as per CPL requirements.

Complete CPL Flight Training
  • Complete CPL Flying Training (India or Abroad)

Finish the required flying hours at a DGCA-approved flying school in India or an ICAO-compliant academy abroad.

  • Apply for Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

Submit your flying logs, exams, medicals and documents to DGCA for issuance of your CPL.

Type Rating & Airline Entry
  • Apply for an Trainee first officer as an CPL Holder

Apply directly to airlines that accept non-type-rated CPL holders through direct entry programs.

  • Complete Type Rating and Apply as a Type-Rated Pilot:

Obtain aircraft-specific training such as A320, B737 or ATR 72-600 to qualify for immediate airline placement.

Airline Interview Preparation

Prepare for airline selection processes, including interviews, simulator assessments and aptitude tests
